The Next Credit Fiasco?

November 13, 2011

Does Chuck Schumer just sit around and smoke crack all day? Apparently he must. The Associated Press is reporting that he is planning to go to the Federal Trade Commission and ask for a crack down on “Lay-away Fees”. I really can’t say enough bad things about this man without becoming very redundant. He has spent far too many years wandering the halls of Congress to understand the way business needs to operate in the real world. What Mr. Schumer fails to understand is that there is a cost associated to do anything in business, especially retail. Nothing is free, it has to be paid for from somewhere. Either the consumer pays for it or the business must eat it, or in other terms, “take a loss”. Everyone of us needs to come to grips with the fact that there is a cost to do business, whether that be a lay-away fee or a checking account fee. If you won’t work for free, why do you expect businesses to give you products and services for free? Y’all need to turn off the TV and take a business class… and Mr. Schumer should resign his Senate seat and let someone with a bit more sense have it.

Right – we all want a deal but NOTHING is free – nor should it be…
