The United States Attorney General and his Gun Control Agenda

November 7, 2011

As if we needed another excuse to believe that the Obama Administration is very anti-gun, it appears that Attorney General Eric Holder is on the verge of going before Congress and blaming his botched gun trafficking operation on the lack of US gun control laws that prohibit “assault rifles”.  A copy of Holder’s prepared testimony contains the following pro gun control statements:

“Some of the overheated rhetoric might lead you to believe that this local,  Arizona-based operation was somehow the cause of the epidemic of gun violence in  Mexico. In fact, Fast and Furious was a flawed response to, not the cause of,  the flow of illegal guns from the United States into Mexico.”

“Unfortunately, earlier this year the House of Representatives actually voted to  keep law enforcement in the dark when individuals purchase multiple  semi-automatic rifles and shotguns in Southwest border gun shops, providing law enforcement with the tools to detect and disrupt  illegal gun trafficking is entirely consistent with the constitutional rights of  law-abiding citizens and it is critical to addressing the public safety crisis  on the Southwest border.”

I would contend and so would a great deal of other people, that this administration cooked up this failed operation with the intent of using to advance more gun control legislation. It was tailor made and is straight out of Machiavellian Politics 101!
