Varmints Beware
The Good Kind
Came across another snake while mowing. It appears to be an Eastern Gartersnake, Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis. Definitely one of the good kind. Notice the round pupils. With the exception of the Coral Snake, all other venomous snakes in the South are pit vipers (Copperhead, Cottonmouth and Rattlesnake) that have vertical slit pupils, like a cat.
These snakes eat a lot of insects. I let him go about his way.
Look What I Found Today
I snatched this snake off of the road today just a few hundred yards from my house this afternoon saving it from certain death. In this part of the country, snakes are killed with extreme prejudice. It annoys me greatly. But I digress…
This cool guy appears to be a Western Mudsnake (Farancia abacura reinwardtii). I love the red eyes and belly. After taking these pictures I relocated it to the back side of my property.

Any gun owner stupid enough to vote for a Democrat deserves to get screwed out of his (or hers) gun rights.

Denying that bad things can happen or simply not thinking about them, will by no means prevent them.
